CompareSolar ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles (IPPs).
Information we collect
When you request quotes or contact us, we collect details you provide such as your name, email address, phone number, suburb/region, property type and your solar requirements. We also collect limited technical information (such as your IP address, browser type and how you found us) to operate and improve the site.
How we use your information
We use your information to match you with solar installers, to respond to your enquiries, and to improve our service. We may contact you about your request.
Sharing with installers
The core purpose of our service is to connect you with solar installers. When you request quotes, we share your enquiry details with one or more vetted installers who service your region so they can contact you with a quote. By submitting a request, you consent to this sharing. Each installer is responsible for handling your information under their own privacy obligations once it is shared with them.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and to retain it only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask for access to, and correction of, the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, or to ask us not to share your details further, email hello@comparesolar.co.nz.
